Working out which day was best to go out to the Reef. Working out which Daintree River cruise represented good value and working out where to head next!
We spent 5 days in Cairns and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The kids loved snorkelling out on Normady Island and the chance encounter with the humpback whales on the way out there. We lucked into the Cairns street parade one night and had a great swim in the foreshore lagoon. The last 2 days we have been up in the Daintree Forest. The kids and I split and ate a coconut that Anais found on the beach and we loved walking into Mossman Gorge and Cassowary Falls to swim in their icy waters. We had a chuckle at the 200 plus beach goers at Port Douglas that insisted on sitting on the beach in the 30knot onshore winds. Today we saw some big crocks in the river on the morning crusie, but I am yet to catch a Barrumundi. Heading into the table lands tomorrow on the start of the Savannah Way.
Glad to hear that the weather has broken back home and the grass has started to grow.
