Hear what happened to the two baked beans travelling around Australia?

They got stuck in Cairns!!!!

Australia is big. I don't know how those freaks stay sane riding bikes or walking around it.  We have been going North for 5 weeks and are still not at the top. You could easily spend 6 years doing this trip and still miss bits.
We departed Charters Towers and Lobbed in Townsville for the morning. The kids went ballistic on the forshore playground infrastructure and Emm and I ogled at the amazing views. Progress along freeways is rather slow and we have out it down to the fact there are more people employed holding lollypop stop/go signs on roadworks in QLD than the entire Victoor Harbor population. We stayed a night at Mission Beach and tried not to hit any Cassuaries on the road.  The place was stunning however still significantly destroyed by Cyclone Yassi. The rainforest are torn to bits, cocnut palms still lay all over the beaches and every second house has a tarpolin on the roof. We are currently in Cairns for the next 5 days and hope to see and do it all if we can drag the kids away from the water park in the campground. Best go pop my T-shirt back on, temps meant to drop to 17 tonight.

P.S Saw literally millions of Banana plants today. All had healthy looking bunches bulging under thier leaves. It won't be long!

  1. Yep it is big but don't try and see it all this time - this doesn't have to be the last go round. We are starting to emerge from hibernation down south. A sunny day today and you can hear the grass growing! A few "old" players back on the volleyball scene - Asha and Lacey Bell, Georgie Edwards, Tom Collins - has lifted the standard markedly! Enjoy Cairns, Port Douglas etc great area with lots to do and see. Work on the jokes tho :)
